Introspection on the Negative/Positive Effects of Digital Gaming

Through the changes in technology the gaming industry has risen to astounding creative abilities and capabilities that allowed a new social world and learning element through the growing computer/console gaming industry - in my own studies and insight I review the negative and positive effects of Digital gaming. The Negative effects regarding digital gaming stems from games such as the controversial role-playing game called ‘Active shooter’ (which puts players as first-person gunman) this game provides the ability to freely use a gun and shoot people. This I fear has reached the youth in a way which normalizes and almost numbs those to the true cause and effects of the realities regarding violence. Perception of 'The Guilty' (Movie, 2021)

‘The Guilty’( 2021), is an ‘R’ rated film where all the scenes take place on a single morning in a 911 dispatch center. Call operator Joe Baylor (Jake Gylenhaal) is answering 911 calls from various people showing the intensity and also the dreariness of being a dispatcher for 911. One of these calls -which is the focus of the whole movie- he attempts to save a woman caller who’s abducted and in serious danger - only to discover all isn’t as it seems and him realizing the only way out is the truth. One of the prominent scenes in the movie is when Joe finally gets ahold of the female caller after she had gone silent- in this scene he finds out she has mental health issues which changes the whole dynamic and perspective of the movie - from victim to suspect. From the emergence of music in the 1930’s until today there has been a big shift and change in the access of music as a listener, as well as musicians using digital studios. The invention of the internet and the advancement of software/hardware has provided and opened new opportunities for musicians to share and create their music without the record labels. The role of file sharing/streaming and the emergence of technology has created a unique stage for artists achieving their own independent label and making money from their creations.
